Caspian Sub has published Strategic Exercise #02.
Read it there: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Caspian_Sub/files/%20Strategic%20Exercises/
Discuss it here.
Note: We will publish a couple of easy Strategic Exercises to warm people up. But don't worry, we have some wicked hard ones in the stack.

What the heck is a UK AA gun doing in Kazakstan?
Well maybe my eyes are failing me but I only see a UK bmb and a UK AA gun. So slide that AA gun down into Persia, it will prevent the Japanese tanks from Blitzing and capturing Caucasus.

I can see how the AA gun got up there. If the UK abandons India (see Caspian Sub policy paper #1), then the UK should be moving the AA gun to a more useful site.
In this situation, the best move I see is to move the AA gun down and sacrifice it, preventing the Japanese tanks from blitzing in. That allows Russia time to do a full build in Caucasus and move anything it wants down from Moscow.
That being said, looking ahead, the allies will need to do some major teamwork to prevent the inevitable come the next Japanese turn. Don't look now, but when Japan is up on the next round, there are 9 tanks, 1 infantry, 6 fighters and 1 bomber about to pound the tar out of Caucasus.
Those are just my thoughts . . .

Abadnoning India? What nonsense is this? I'll tell you what, if this situation arises from India being abandoned then maybe you shouldn't abandon India!!! ;)

If the Japs are about to overwhelm India, the UK might as well move back the AA gun. They can retreat it back to Persia the next turn, then either put a spare in Caucasus, or more it to Kazakh, where next turn it can replace either Russian AA gun. I think that's a very minor point,

Some people don't know that you cannot blitz a tank through a territory if there is either enemy units, an AA gun, or a complex present.
Even if you know the rule, some don't know it well enough to use it to prevent an advanement of enemy units. It was an easy question, but it's good to know this little useful info.

I think India is Japan's property no matter what (again, see the first Caspian Sub policy paper). I haven't seen a condition where Japan doesn't walk in there and take it when it wants to.

I never heard about an IC preventing Blitzing before. It would be strange day indeed to see someone plopping down an IC to prevent a blitz! ;)
Well I read the first Caspian Sub policy paper and I have to say that paper may have looked at the strongetst attacking force for Japan to take India and looked at the strongest defending force for the UK to defend India but this is a rather insulated situation where only one objective is taken into account (Capturing India). I do enjoy the strategic exercises. Could we get more than 1 a week?

I wouldn't build one to stop it, but I've had a LOT of *** tanks coming up the south, and abandoned the Caucasus entirely to prep for a counterattack by any Japs entering the Caucasus. It's useful to know if you need to leave a guy there or not. Game breaker? Probably not. Useful to know? Absolutely.

If you want to transport the UK units from Egypt, assuming they are still alive after G1, be my guest. As an Axis player, I'd smile at that move - an uncontested Africa for Germany and more units to wipe out as Japan.

That might be an interesting, who attacks Anglo-Egypt first round with Germany. I would have to vote for "Kill the Britts". In the games I have failed to close the canal with the Germans, the UK forces have made me regret it. It's an attack I'll lose German airpower if needed just to take that piece of land.
