We are halfway through the second turn of our PBEM/Chatroom/telephone game!

Here is the situation in the embattled US of A.

West has slowly but surely gobbled up all of the Pacific states and is headed toward the Rockies. Salt Lake City has a decent garrison, but will have to decide whether to stay or go this turn. Reinforcements are needed to the east. Only the cards can decide at this point.

South has just recently hit a hardship with a stalled attack on Dallas but nearly eliminated a small group we were building in the mountains south of Colorado. Denver is definitely threatened, but Midwest seems safe for now.

In the East, Florida has fallen and the Invaders are attacking DC and Atlanta as we speak. Reinforcements are beginning to grow thin in that area, and the Eastern Invader has yet to even bring 1 of his Elite Units into the game! Looks like some laser fire is in order...a new facility in Milwaukee is almost online...

I am looking forward to drawing my new cards and will hopefully be able to hold them off a bit longer. I have planned a major attack for my next turn, one that will turn the tide and begin the road to driving these bastards out. The Invaders have made their first mistake and I intend to exploit it to its full potential.

More tomorrow!

Wow, took quite a beating in DC as Pete rolled 6 hits!

DC is now occupied, but my leaders escaped into the nearby mountains. We do not have enough strength for a counterattack yet, but the time will come.

Fared much better in Atlanta, losing only a Defensive Hovertank.

After receiving reinforcements in the form of Partisans to the West, who rebelled against and killed a Paratrooper unit in Idaho, we are launching attacks to retake 2 cities, Seattle and Houston.

We are hitting Houston with everything we've got. If we take these 2 cities back, it means certain doom for the Invaders! If we fail, our forces may be spread too thin to continue a defense much longer...

Some of the Tanks, etc that we were hoping for did not arrive. It's all up to the Lasers now.

Last turn went well. While Seattle did not fall as planned, we were able to recapture Houston and earn that valuable third Partisan Card for next turn!

The Northwest Task Force has been recalled to Salt Lake City. Our defenses along the Southern Invader's path are holding for now, and we have bolstered up the East as best as possible. The Western Invader has been slowed down and the northern states should be safe now.

The loss of both our Stealth Bomber units over Houston was painful - I hope that extra card makes it worth it. I will be changing the rules regarding the selection of SBs as casualites very soon!

The Stealth Bombers hit us just after dawn. The poor bastards that were refueling our Transport Choppers just outside Salt Lake City caught the brunt of it. One minute the desert was quiet, the next there was a deafening sonic boom followed by explosions all over the tarmac. When it was over, half of our chopper fleet was gone. The fuel trucks finished what the enemy began.

The Western Invader has doubled his real estate. Using Transport Choppers and Troop Transport Mobile Units, he has been able to push forward quickly and with little resistance. Hopefully he will thin out as he gets closer to the midwest...

The Southern Invader's Reinforcements are on the way. I will report the situation in the Southern Sector tomorrow.

The Southern Invader is throwing his forces against our lines with everything he's got. Every single occupied territory is being hit. We expect the line to take in excess of 50% casualties over the next 24 hours.

Houston has been back and forth so many times that the entire city has turned to rubble.

Our commanders have sent the request over every available TV and Radio station -

"Any and all able-bodied Americans, please do what you can to arm yourselves and resist the enemy advances. Your efforts are critical to the current campaign."

For the first time, we are beginning to see trouble on the horizon...

Message from Red Commander:

Do I detect a loss of confidance in the American Leaders words?

Could it be false that he escaped the capture of D.C.?

I'll double check the Slave ca ...Err! P.O.W. camps to be sure he is not hiding amoungst the women and childern.

My next wave of reinforcements is nearing the coast as we speak, I shall direct their final disembarkment zones and report back.

I am safe and sound in my bunker in the mountains, Thank you!

I would not say that I am losing confidence - however, it's starting to get a little crazy out there. The defense plan needs a little tweaking thats all!

Starting next turn I will have 4 Lasers, and the little styrofoam trays will start looking a little bit sparse to you guys!

I just hope that the Partisans will be able to buy me some time until the trays are empty! You guys are winning through sheer numbers at this point!

With their backs against the wall and nowhere to retreat, our forces have fought back viciously against the Southern Invader!
They destroyed a total of 10 blue units in 4 different battles, including his last 4 Bombers!
While we have yet to count our own casualties in these battles, the odds are that the Southern Invader's drive toward the Midwest has taken some major damage and things are definitely looking up! Uh Oh...incoming shells. Will post the results of Blue's attack rolls later!

As the dust settles.....the BLUE INVADER has taken Houston Back! (WOW- but at what cost?)-We have lost ALL of our bombers- hmmm....but we still have a nice supply of HVY Assault and regular Helos! -SHould help us win some more battles in the air!

We shall see how our Ally from the EAST (Red Invader) will do on the next few assaults!

Victory is close at hand! :D

Yes, casualties were as high as expected in the South. Out of 13 units in the Dallas-Houston Defense Network, 6 were destroyed and 1 retreated into Arkansas.

The Southern defense plan is in disruption and reinforcements must be deployed to continue to hold the Southern Invader at bay. However, it was partially successful, as severe casualties were also inflicted upon the enemy, slowing his advance.

In other news, conflicting reports from the desert leave the situation outside of Phoenix unresolved. Some say that we destroyed and disabled many of the enemy's tanks in that battle. The enemy's evil propaganda minister assures his people that only mobile units were hit. As the smoke clears, we will see who emerged the true victor down there...

...As there are "rumors" spreading that USA only lost (1) Infantry in the Phoenix Area...while the Southern Invaders were humiliated: How can this be? I think it was work of anti-war activists! Further tests showed that the Hover tanks were disengaged and destroyed due to a "NEW Sabotage" technique. An electo-magnetic devise sending out large amount of Gamma Rays was learned to be the culprit from the Southern Hover Tanks being "shut" down or main-frame system overloading. Either case- the Tanks never stood a chance!

We shall see who laughs last when the U.S. falls in the hands of His enemies! :D

...as the crowds of people in the Invader's homelands start to praise and chant: "Hip-Hip- Horah!....Hip-Hip-Horah!"

Also-there was a townfolk that voiced his 'Pride' towards the Enemy (The U.S.) by saying:

"Yeah, Go run home to Mama!" (lol) :D

In the East, its all about Air Superiority. The Red Invader is launching an all-out attack with Heavy Assault Helicopters, normal choppers, Bombers and Stealth Bombers. The city of Atlanta is once again under siege and the area west of DC is under a massive attack to open the way into the Great Lakes area.

This has become the major theater of operations as the invaders need access to my major urban areas to get the 18 needed for victory. While continuing to harass them in the South and West, it is in the East that we will make our final stand. Even the Lasers will not be enough to thin the enemy out at this point. We need bodies in spaces NOW! I will be drawing my 3 cards in the AM and will fill in the details of tonight's results at that time.

My forces have failed to break the line's in the Eastern U.S.
But I shall not quit until the cities of the North are mine!
You have bested me this time President Wood, but you have not heard my death rattle yet!

The Eastern Invader has thrown himself against my Eastern Wall and walked away bruised. His Elite forces have suffered their first casualties, and morale is excellent.

Partisans are springing up everywhere and an entire fleet of much-needed new aircraft is on its way from Minneapolis. Our Lasers are hitting 2 out of 3 shots.

The Western Invader is being slowed in his attempt to reinforce the slowly dying Southern Invasion. We are about to walk into San Antonio without a fight. If DC falls today, its over -
The US will be drawing 4 cards next turn while the invaders' trays will be down to stems and seeds. There will be no hope of achieving the 18 city goal.

Reporters and government officials in every country that participated in the invasion have gone on record to say that "this war is now unwinnable".

Meanwhile, our people are for the first time 100% confident of victory, parading in the streets and taking many former captors prisoner!

I hope to be in the White House tonight!

Message from Red Commander:
Yes, the Americans have reclaimed their once glorious capital, and still Atlanta fails to burn.
But in time these small points of hope will fade away as my forces break through and spill into the northern cities!
it is only a matter of time before steve's luck fails him, and when it does i shall be there to smile, and hand him a pistol to end his suffering!

Victory is our's!!!

It has been awhile since my last post - everyone has been busy fighting the invasion...

In my last correspondence, the East had held up against the latest round of battles and a Western Wall had been built in the Rockies.

Since then, the Western Invader has begun his attempt to break through the mountains but was unable to fully destroy my Rocky Defense Line. We were able to destroy one of his Bombers and then many of his dice rolled Retreats, moving us back but keeping us alive. The slow delay-and-retreat process is giving us the time we need to get to our upcoming 4-card turn.

In the South, San Antonio and Dallas were captured as expected. The enemy still has a large force of helicopters and has further damaged our Southern Defense Line. Reinforcements will be needed to secure the cities of Memphis, Kansas City and St.Louis.

No worries - tons of new forces are on the way - the enemy is spreading himself thin in crucial areas, and our Laser Force is well-trained and vengeful. Soon, the enemy will be down to mobile units and infantry in his trays...

This game should be over in 2 more turns!

With the exception of a possible Red Army breakout in the East, the war is going well. Pete's forces have yet to capture Atlanta after several tries and just failed again to capture DC. However, these failures have dwindled my forces down to very little and I am not getting the cards to reinforce this critical area!

I have positioned my forces in the West in Operation: Rampart, also known as the Great Rocky Mountain Meat Grinder defense. I do not think any Yellow Invaders will make it through the Rockies alive - those that do will be too weak to get much further. Robert has captured many cities, but his drive will eventually stall. He has captured about 1/3 of the United States, however, and still has 4 Bombers!

Operation: Freedom's Fist, also known as The Great Texas Roundup, has encircled the Holywolfman. The Southern Invader has been limited to Texas so far, and will see his territory slowly shrink as my fist clenches around him.

Once I have stopped the Invader's drives, I plan to pummel them with Laser fire until there is nothing left. My Lasers hit on a 3 or better last turn and scored 75%. I will have 5 next turn and plan to hit em' where it hurts!

As soon as I figure out how to slow the Eastern Invader, we can chalk this one up as a victory, albeit a hard-fought one!

The American President has ordered a retreat from Atlanta, he thinks this will lure me away from my main focus!
It will not work.
I will continue my thrust into the Northern Cities!
The time is short for America, she has fought bravely and for that i shall order all prisioners to be executed swiftly.
This war has been bloody on all fronts and many heroic sons of the motherland have paid the ultimate price for the final elimination of the Capitalist Dogs foul stench!
My reinforcements may be few, but i shall overcome this minor inconveinance, and shall not stop until the last Laser topples!

Victory is mine!
