1. When a ship's card leaves play, does the ship leave play as well, or does it stay where it is, not moving until the card is played again?

2. May ships leave neutral ports? I would hope so, but the rules don't say yes or no (which, considering they are specific about the inability to leave hostile ports, would suggest yes)

3. If a noble's troops are straddled between ships and one is called off, is the other pulled along as well? I would guess so, but it seems bizarre either way.

4. The French Aid Mercenaryallows unlimited naval transport to the controlling faction one way from Calais or the Continent to England, Ships [sic] are not provided What does this mean?!
I have been playing that all the noble's troops except the Mercenaries need to be transported by boat, but the Mercenaries need not be acounted for in determining capacity.

1. The second option
2. Yes, they're neutral so they won't stop you from leaving.
3. If a noble is called off, all his stuff, including troops, goes with him.
4. Mercenaries that have been played DO count for ship capacity and what the rest means is that you need to pick up the French Mercenaries with your ship/ships.

Agree for first 3 questions. For n. 4, because of the strange rule "allows unlimited naval transport to the controlling faction one way from Calais or the Continent to England, Ships are not provided" that seems a contradiction in terms (unlimited naval transport vs. Ships are not provided!!!), We decided to play in this way: noble counter reach the continent or Calais, the player attach the French Mercenaries Card that (we suppose) have their own ships support. After FIRST journey to England or Ireland, they are considered as all other normal mercenaries...
