There's a lot of great new games and game systems out there, but a number of the older AH titles are still great to get out and play:

1776 - I think the best all-time wargame of the regular wargame types (hex map, counters, etc) - continually improved through the General and now the Boardgamer magazines

Caesar at Alesia - the most interesting situation to play from either side's perspective.

Russian Campaign - okay, a lot of newer games feature innovations on the Russian Front, but this is still a great game, and simple enough (if you've played it as often as I have) to take out and play a still interestingly detailed game without much fuss

Arab Israeli Wars - the culmination of a series of tank tactic games (Panzerblitz being the first and popular one), it has a lot of scope for scenarios (and looks like more to come with the world situation)

That's just a few off the top of my head that are still great to play despite of (or in addition to) all the new improved stuff out there. Plenty of others... War and Peace, Seige of Jerusalem, Battle of the Bulge, Wooden Ships and Iron Men, Gunslinger, etc.
