looks cool actually...
I like how they say it wont be "my army vs. your army"...

they look cool, but wouldnt it be more satisfying to paint it and say you made it cool yourself?

No, that sounds pretty dumb if you ask me, I don't like painting.

Minis look nice. I like that victory conditions are based on geographic objectives, and that they haven't left out the most popular WWII units in this initial release: Shermans, Panthers, T-34s and Pz IVs.

I'd like to see some infantry because people have a lot more detail on them than vehicles.

Well, at least they'll make the packs theatre-based.

Time spent painting equals less time playing. Just say no.

I hope we see some infantry soon. I also want to see some pictures with some frame of reference so we can see how big these are.

the vehicles look pretty good...I would like to see the infantry...
I think the first expansion is trying to cover to many nationalities and too many theaters of war...
from the preview so far it is my opinion that they could have passed on the jeep , Jagpanther(Hetzer instead) , M-18(M-10 instead)...

Hhhmmm, I've looked but I still can't find the part where it says you're not allowed to paint these.
If you want to paint them, paint them.

I believe they are trying to give a base of units to each nation. From there they can add. It is hard in a mini set sometimes to introduce a new "faction" in the midlle of a collectable game. For example: Pirates by wizkids. with each set they introduce a new nation and that nation has much less ships than the other nations. I it is just hard to catch up without shorting another nation. Starwars Minis was another solution but then you had sets that don't fit well together. Like Japan fighting Germany. I think they have made the correct choice here. I know I am going to eat my words when I would like more variety in my favorite nation but it will come in time.

I'm pretty happy with what I see, but I agree that the paint jobs can be much better if kept to the D&D/SW minis standards. I hope we get some interesting camo. The color tanks can get boring quick.

It did say thet were "prototype" minis so the painting may improve in the actual production series :D

I have great respect for people who can paint whole armies or fleets of miniatures, precisely because I lack the skill and patience to do so. To me, getting unpainted metal or plastic in a game is like getting a sheet of blank counters, a photocopy of what they're supposed to look like, and instructions to draw them yourself before playing. In fact, having to paint things is what's kept me out of the miniatures hobby for all these years. I'm very grateful for games like D&D miniatures, Wizkids' "Pirates" series, and MageKnight for giving me an entry into a field I could only admire from a distance before. I'll be glad the A&A Miniatures come painted, but I can see the point of those who'd like to use their skills to "customize" them.
