Here's an idea thats not too original. Its been used in pc games since panzer general. What if you imagine a series of skirmishes that would feed of off previos battles with surviving units carrying over. I'm envisioning a series of 5 different maps, with the first battle being played on map 3 an a meetin engagement. The victor would then push into the defenders second map. Each player would get a chance to refit his army between skirmishes and possibly taylor his "reinforcement" to tackle his opponents weaknesses. This would be contingent on each unit in the game having a relative point value that is used to construct & reinforce armies. This could even be done with 3 maps and possibly the end maps would give some defensive terrain benefits or possibly just be random map draws.

Another idea is to base initial unit deployment order to the attacker or defender to get some desired effect. This could also drag out into some all day set of skirmishes with the tides of total victory ebbin & flowing! You've won this skirmish but not the battle!
I really hope there are unit point values similar to Heroscapes. This would allow for drafting or at least pitting somewhat ballaned forces against each other without having to use a rigid scenatio structure.

I hope this game will be easily adaptable to terrain, I cant imagine why we would have fabulous painted minitures stuck fighting it out on a 2-D "battle board". We need proper terrain! I am not so concerned for rules.. rules can always modified or changed.
