View Full Version : Complaint about articles...

Sure, the picture of the new mini is great, but I'm afraid I have a complaint:

Everything I read in the article could be found easily using a search engine.

In the entire article, not a single significant thing about the game was mentioned, instead, just about the historical counterpart. My question is: Who cares? Is this going to be their way to get people to use the units historically (like how they only gave Japan 6 tanks so that people wouldnt buy as many, keeping it historical)? I hope not.

Good picture.

Horrible article.

Series,

I think AH the company may not be caught up on AH the developers. Their marketing wants to promote the game but the final rules may not be done yet. My guess is that this is a "teaser trailor" it mentions the game and the pics but they don't go into the game because the final draft of the rules isn't done yet.

That's my guess anyway.

I would really like to see the next mini next to something to give it some scale.

It would be nice to find out if armored cars play any kind of recon role in the game or if they are just fast wheeled light guns.

Greetings, I'm the Online Producer for A&A Minis. This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but as we get closer to GenCon, we will be publishing more specific details about game play. As a gamer, I realize this will drive a certain segment of you nuts, but please try and have a little patience.

Thanks.

I hope that they do have some sort of reconnisance in this game. That would be sooooo grooooovy!

Hi Bob and welcome.

Can you let us all know when the articles will start appearing? And will this be another set of weekly cliff hanger articles like the A&A revisied articles?

Today's articles has the stat cards associated with the unit and I updated last weeks article with stat cards as well. Look for rules to start appearing in July. We will be making the rules available in their entirety.

A little more about me. I got my start in gaming with Avalon Hill bookshelf games and still have at least a couple dozen of them, along with some SPI and GDW games that I break out and play from time to time. Working on the AH brand is a rare treat for me.

Great references Bob!
Good to have a diehard AH gamer on the WoTC staff. ;)

I found the 2 articles about the units!!! My one thing is that they were kinda hidden and I had to look in the article archives to find them...
Any chance they will be linked into a dedicated page for A&A minis (which there isn't one yet)...

For those who haven't found them here is the links:

Great cards!!! This looks like it is gonna be alot of fun.

I could be wrong, but it seems the icons at the bottom of the card indicate that the tank is a rare piece and the scout car appears to be an uncommon.

How bout that highly flammable characteristic of the tank? That is very cool. :)

Bob, thanks for posting those stat cards. It's good to hear that the rules will be available online--reminds me of the fun I had previewing the rules to MechWarrior just before it came out a few years back. Enjoy your work with AH! It's a classic brand, though I'll admit I tried Panzerblitz not too long ago and it just didn't have the same luster as it used to back then.

Great looking cards! Thanks for the update.

Just so you know, you have my dream job, and I now officially go on record as stating I hate you. My first games were AH classics. They spawned a life-long love of military history, gave me a reason to read everything I could get my hands on, and I've been happy with my hobby ever since.

The first thing I thought of when I heard the boards were going to be geomorphic was "Hey, I'll need to dig out my old PanzerBlitz and Panzer Leader boards and compare them to the ones that will be released with the game!" Perhaps they can be upscaled through the magic of scanning and re-printing, and used for some games with my friends!

SeattleGamer,

Maybe you should see about getting a job with Avalon Hill???
You live right there in Seattle. And that is where WoTC is based at. ;)
