Could someone from R&D post how many of each Commons/Uncommons/Rares there will be in the first set. This will help with determining how much needs to be purchased to aquire a set. Also on the DDM line an individual rare is normally not repeated in a factory sealed case. Will this be the same in AAM?

My bet would be 16 Rares, 16 Uncommons and 16 Commons. Since the total is 48 my guess is the distribution will be close to that.

I would estimate 8 Rares, 16 Uncommons and 24 Commons. That is just a guess though.

I thought I read before that there are 15 rares in the base set. I think that's all we know at this point on distribution. So a case of 12 boosters, a starter box and few extras should get you close to a full set as long as you can trade your doubles. I'm sure you'll have all the commons and uncommons you could want.
The best price I've seen thus far is a case for $99.99 and a starter at $16.99 so I would expect a full set is going to cost $150 or so.

Based on D&D minis a more likly ratio is;
19 Rares
19 Uncommons
10 Commons
Since this is the very first A&A minis set, the split might be 16/16/16. But more commmens than rares seems really unlikely.

If A&AM follow the same distribution patter of D&DM it would be as such:
D&DM harbinger set
80 minitatures in set
20 common
33 uncommon
27 rare

A&AM would thus be
48 miniatures in set
12 common
20 ( rounded ) uncommon
16 ( rounded) rare

Having a mass of common grunt for example, gives me an exciting image of swarms of infantry charging forward, supported by a few tanks and mortars or machinguners. Massing a collection of similar units cheaply is part of the draw, for me, of this product.
For those who speak of market segments and statagies, I do not suppose to know what the demographics of the gaming market are, nor could I claim that I know what AH's statagy is in releasing this product though I would be interesting in learning what AH has to say about it. Any other postulations are unqualified guesses. I can only say HUZZZA! to AH for developing this product and await further details from AH.

Copy from the Chat Log:

butchohare1: well I'm wondering about the total number of rare units.

Rich_Baker: Butch, it's 15 rares in the Base set.

I told you, the only thing "official" we know is there are 15 rares in the base set, no more, no less.
