Pinball wizard is the ultimate who song. Are you making fun of Green Day in that Poll?

You know for a teenager, you are seriously stuck in a time warp. :D

I could not answer the poll, cuz there was not an answer for me.

My vote would have been, They were good for their generation, I don't much care for them, but even they are better than Green Day or any other new generation punk/alternative stuff.

Of course this is only my opinion and personal taste. :)

I know many people like the new stuff, so no offense. :o

I have to agree with nerdx on this one. Green Day is a band of quality.

A band of very, very poor quality, that is! :D

I'm in the 90's myself. Grunge all the way! But I also like ACDC, Ozzy, Zeppelin, etc.

That's what I'm talkin' about. While your at it, throw in some Dio, Megadeth, early Mettalica, and Trouble. http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zone/messageboards/images/smilies/headbang.gif

Tops on my "Who" list would be "Substitute".

All those early, bashing tracks still sound great. The Who were my favorite band for a few years {more than a few years ago!}. I still throw on the occasional sonic assault from this crew.

My short list would also include "Bargain", "Naked Eye", "I Can See For Miles", "My Wife", and their version of "Shakin' All Over". My favorite album by this lot is "Whos' Next". I've never been a big fan of either "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia"; the "rock opera" thing was a bit far-reaching for me.

Honestly the only who album you need is Live at Leeds...the original version and not the new one with Tommy bits in it. But as far as the Who being better the Hendrix...get real people the man pioneered playing the electric guitar...his showcasing and ability opened the way and inspired an awful lot of people...Fugazi, SVR, etc... The Who are good but not that good.

Honestly, you kids need to relax ans listen to some Etta James or Billie Holiday. They sing the human experience. As far as rock goes, Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix are the best.

Etta James & Billie Holiday! Now you're talking! Toss in some old school Soul and R&B while you're at it!

It takes a while for folks to get to the "grown folks music"! Let's give the young people a break!
I still dig the stuff I was into into High School; but I also enjoy the music I've discoverd over the years. I like some of the sounds my step-daughter is into {Modest Mouse, Gorillaz...}. She listens to some of my stuff {Motown, Little Willie John}.
Duke Ellington was fond of pointing out that there are two kinds of music; good music and the other kind! I think as long as an artist is honest in their expression; and they put their heart & soul in the music, you'll hear it. It doesn't matter if its' Country or Classical, Bebop or HipHop, good music is good music.

Admiral...if you like those bands check out these...I know that Zep and Hendrix were heavily influenced by the blues...

Band of Gypsy's-what Hendrix did after the experience broke up it's the name of the band and an album. Also check Hendrix: Blues and Voodoo Soup.

Howlin' wolf, Muddy Waters, BB King-actually all the King Bros. did good work, Lightning Hopkins, Ted Hawkins, Otis Taylor, Little Walter, Son House, Big Joe Williams, Big Mama Thorton, Sippi Wallace(sp?), and J.L. Hooker.

e.Clapton, Blind Faith, Funkadelic-Standing on the verge of getting it on... is awesome-, Ellen McIlwaine, and The Animals.

The true test of a song's greatness is whether it has been in a Grand Theft Auto game.
