Me and my gaming group have been over the rules multiple times and checked all the FAQ's we could find, but cant find a definitive answer to the question of card limits. Are you limited to a max of 7 cards in your hand? So if you have say 5 cards then help defend a planet with 3 or 4 ships and get to draw that many cards; what happens to the cards you have over 7? Are they discarded or is ok to have over 7?

As far as I know there has never been a limit to how many cards you can have. Only a minimum (no attack cards).

I know some powers such as Healer (Especially with the super flare) can give you a quite hefty hand.

If such time as a Player obtains a hand that consists of the library and the opponents have no cards and can't draw is the game given to the Player with cards then?

My playing group has added many new cards to the deck from previous versions of the game so we haven't quite reached this point but I am sure if we hadn't added cards their would be a player with all the cards and we would be unable to play.

Just curious of how anyone would handle such a situtation?

We almost ran out of cards once, and we decided that players cannot draw cards if there are none. If you have to fight and have no cards, you lose without compensation unless the attacker plays negotiate, inwhich case a negotiation takes place.

This is how we agreed to handle it, and it seems tough but fair.

Are there any other versions of CE with rules for this situation? Former editions, or online, perhaps? Do any other editions have rules which handle a player who has dropped out before the game has resolved? If so, a player with no cards could be considere tremporarily "dropped out" until such time as they are able to draw cards.
