This one is for AG staff:

Under the Quick Start Rules, which I just downloaded...

On page 5, under More Fights, it reads:

Stacking: Each player can have only two units on a single hex. Only one of those four units can be a vehicle.

It is either a mistake, or infantry units are to be formed by two soldier bases?

Some clarification would be greately appreciated

Perhaps opposing units can occupy the same hex and fight at a range of 0?

I haven't read the rules, but from your post..

"Each player can only have two..."

Sounds like 4 units to me, assuming it is a 2 player game.

Hmmm... seems to me you are right... maybe it is to limit melee size (aka dice rolling) to a manageable level...

thanks

Opposing units can occupy the same hex. The Japanese Arisaka rifleman unit has Close Assault 6 as one of it's special abilities.

The ability reads:
This unit has an attack value of 6 against Vehicles in its hex.
This attack ignores cover

The Arisaka also has Hand To Hand 12, which looks like the same ability, but for same hex combat versus other soldiers rather than vehicles. The mini in this photo is partially covering the Hand To Hand text, but you get the idea.

<edit>
Just noticed the American Bazooka also has the Close Assault ability.

But with stacking of only two, how do you form squads if the men represent fire-teams of 3 to 4 men?

What is the area represented by the hex? Is it real small?

Will anyone at AH please clarify what is going here?

Thanks,

Sorry Jason, but an infantry stand (of one giy) represents an entire squad, not a section. They haven't announced the exact scale of the board hexes, but it's likely a fudge at this scale, so you shouldn't worry about it. It is what it is.

Correction . . . just noticed this in one of the articles: The scale of the map is 100 meters / hex. The time scale is 1 minute per turn. So it has been specified.

Wow, that is really strange. I guess that is why those preview maps looked so sparse and devoid of men. I wonder why they did that? Even those MW squads have three guys. Oh well.

Thanks SG.
