I'll be running an A&A: Revised tournament in Central Illinois, on September 24, 2005, at the FlatCon Game Convention.
The tournament will consist of 3 rounds, players play 3 games, scoring 5 points for each win and 1 point for each victory their opponents achieve. Gameplay rules will be the same that Greg uses for GenCon.
This A&A tournament is sponsored by Osprey publishing, so I expect some nice prizes to be available, besides the trophy.

Tom,
The link to the FlatCon site works fine. I can't find the actual details on the A&A tournament. What time are you starting the first round? I'm assuming you'd be wrapping up around 10pm.
P.S. - that's a pretty impressive list of prizes.

It's because I hate paperwork and I procrastinate, I haven't put out the information for the tournament. I'll try to get it out there real soon.
We'll begin at 9am and go till 11pm, with breaks for lunch and supper. We'll have 3 sessions of 4 hours each. Friday night, I'll put on a demo for A&A miniatures.
While it is a tournament, it's primarily a great opportunity to get in some FTF games with a variety of people. The victory conditions will be the same that Greg uses at GenCon.
The highlight on Sunday will be the annual Circus Maximus on the Big Board. I've taken the old Avalon Hill game and reproduced it on a 4'x8' board and up to 16 players race using 15mm chariots.

Tom,
As you well know, I would just love to join in the festivies and play, but after GEN CON, my mind goes into autopilot for awhile...

I'm considering coming for Flatcon. I'm just getting settled in at Scott Air Force Base by Belleville, IL. I'd be a loner at this time. I haven't found anyone who plays down here yet. Now, I am curious where you live in "central Illinois" TomJag3 (I still think you should consider TomJagIII instead. I believe that was in another thread though...). If I don't find anyone to play, I may need to track you down for a game if you are with in driving distance.

I'm close to Normal (that's a town) and am an hour's drive from Springfield. It's an easy drive up I-55 to Bloomington-Normal. From there it's 6 miles to my house.
If you came up on the third Saturday of the month, you could be a guest at our game club meeting at work. We usually don't play A&A, but we play lots of other games. On one of the other Saturdays, we meet at my house because it was purchased with gaming in mind. We don't play A&A then, either. We race chariots, and that gets mighty bloody.
I hope you can make it to FlatCon, it's always a great time. It's also easy to find, just off the interstate as you get to Bloomington-Normal.

Flatcon is in just 3 days!! Osprey has mailed to prizes and they should arrive tomorrow. The trophy should be ready for pickup on Thursday, so the A&A tourney is getting ready for action. Lots of other games have been added to the website, check them out, too.

Tom,
I acutally re-considered joining you this weekend but circumstances provided me with other alternatives...hence, I will stand by me original thread, I won't be able to make it.
Good luck and let us know how everything turned out...
Oh, by the way, I am still kind of in autopilot mode...
Peace,
GS:)
