I don't know if anyone at Avalon Hill reads these or not, but here goes:

Does anyone know what ever happened to the Giant RoboRally set that Wizards used to have at Origins? They used interlocking foam mat tiles to make the board, and had robots that were about 2 feet tall (twonky, twitch and trundle (the original) I think).

It would be great if they could bring it back. Playing the giant version is what got me to buy the game in the first place. I think it would be a great promotional item to run this at Origins, GenCon and other conventions.

I would expect that if the giant RoboRally game were to return it would need to be updated to reflect the newest version of the game. (And yes, lots of people at Avalon Hill regularly read these boards...and with great interest.)

Ah, but that is the beauty of it. Except for the robots not looking like those that come with the new game, this one didn't use any of the expansions. So only a docking bay, and the possible removal of any crushers would be required. Since this was made of interchangeable tiles, the board should be a problem to reconfigure as needed, and for a fun demo like this, there really isn't a need for a full docking bay.

But the giant programming cards would have to be dropped or redone to match the new ones. (Kind of cool, and easily allowed the person running the game (in his socks, moving all the bots for the players) to see what each move was, but not required).

I don't know any of the real logistics of this type of thing, but it seemed to attract lots of attention years before. This is what I feel has been missing the past few years at these big conventions - the big, spectacular games that you just can't do elsewhere. (Such as the giant board of Settlers of Cataan - I always sign up to play on that just for fun).
