Being of the nerd/dork/geek persuasion, I have always been a fan of the Star Trek saga. I was saddened today by the loss of James Doohan, and thought it would be appropriate to post it on these forums as I am sure there are other fans here too.

May Mr. Doohan's soul rest in peace. May it soar among the stars and reach the farthest edges of the universe he inspired so many others to dream of.

Amen. A sad day it is indeed, to find a world bereft of its beloved Chief Engineer.

He is one of the few actors I always wanted to meet, I'm sad to know I never will now, and sadder still that he is gone. Well said.

I know but they never said "Beam me up Scotty", they said "Scotty beam me up" or "one to beam up scotty". Never beam me up. I've looked into it really.

I think that's true until the movie came along and then intentionally wrote the phrase into one of the movies.

In any case, may he rest in peace. May he forever be hit in the head with stuff, and knocked unconcious in the great beyond.
