Confused about contents of different versions

Hi guys,

I'm a RoboRally newbie (played once some time ago), but I liked it so much that I ordered the new version immediately. It hasn't arrived yet, but I would have the chance to get an old Crash&Burn (the German one by Amigo). Now, I tried really hard but got somehow confused by all those versions, extension packs, German style versions,... :confused:

Does anybody happen to know whether anything in the German Crash&Burn appears again in the new 2005 RoboRally? Or let's put it the other way round: if I buy Crash&Burn now, will it only contain stuff that I will get with my new pack in some days anyway?

And, just in case I could get hold of one: what about Armed&Dangerous? I got from the other threads that the original one by WOTC would still be a good buy, but what about the Amigo German one?

Sorry to bother you with such a newbie question, but I'm really not getting this sorted out...

I don't have the german edition, but I do have the 2nd edition and all the expansions.

What you will get in any of these is more boards - mailestrom, island, exchange and cross are all reprints (or close to it, all but island have some minor revisions) from the original set.

Armed & Dangerous came with 6 more boards, and doubled the number of options available, as well as a bunch more counters.

Crash & Burn, Grand Prix, and Radioactive had 3, 3 and 2 more boards in them, but that was all.

Armed and Dangerous has crab legs and dual processor which are in the new edition of Robo Rally. They replace turret and shield. So if you get Armed and dangerous, you'll have two duplicate cards and two missing cards that you would have had if you bought the last edition of Robo Rally.

Other than that, it's all added material.

Thanks for your answer! :) The German Crash&Burn said something about option cards and four robots on the package, that's why I was wondering. Well I guess I just go for the game and see what's in there, unless anybody else happens to know...

8 Rules Summary Sheets
26 Option Cards
- same as in WotC release of Robo Rally.
10 Factory Floor Tiles
- 2 portals
- 2 crushers
- 2 flamers
- 4 pushers

sorry for the delay -- I went ill and wasn't online. Thanks for the information -- I just went for the Crash&Burn. As far as I got from the list, there should be two option cards and two boards more than in the new RR, and that was worth it... ;)

again, thanks to everybody! I was really confused with all the different packages, and it seems to get a little clearer now. :)
