View Full Version : Is RR on the shelves yet? What stores are carrying it?

I have yet to find RR at any store in my city -- Toys R Us, Target, HobbyTown, Sprawl*Mart, Borders, etc. I know I can order online, except that I was just given some cash on my birthday, and I'd rather spend that than bruise my bank account any more than necessary. Does anyone know of brick 'n' mortar chains stocking RR?
Thanks,

I got my copy at a privately owned game/hobby shop. If you have a gaming shop nearby, check there. The owner may order it for you if it isn't in stock.

I don't know of Avalon Hill games are carried by any of the mass market retailers. Check you local games / hobby store.
I believe the store I go to already sold out of their first shipment.

Hey, you're in Spokane, WA too!
First off, the re-release of the game has been in stores around the 14th/15th of July 2005.
I am surprised you were not able to find it at Toys 'R Us. I had previously called them and they said they were going to be getting it in. Places like Target and Walmart do not really carry the game as it is more of a speciality game. Maybe in the future. I have never been in Borders nor HobbyTown. However, when I was shopping around locally, I found that both Merlyns and Uncle's Games is carrying it. I was originally going to get it from Merlyns because the guy (seemed knowledgeable on the phone) said they were planning on selling it pretty cheap. Then, I called back and spoke with some girl (didn't seem all that knowledgeable) said no, it'd be FULL Suggested Retail Price. Now, she could have been wrong but I didn' t pursue it any further since I knew that Uncle's also had it and at a slightly-discounted price.
So, check out Uncle's Games. They have a store in the Valley Mall and downtown in Auntie's Bookstore. Merlyns is also downtown.

Not all. Two different local game shop owners claim that their distributor told them it won't be released until mid-August.... Looks like I either wait for a while, or get it online.

Man, what are the odds of finding another Spokanite on here!
Yeah, I'll check out Uncle's and Merlyns. I work down at City Hall, so I could walk there at lunch. The only reason I was looking at the big box stores was because they're on my way home.
Toys R Us seems pretty hit and miss these days. The northside one on Francis has all the Risk titles, Heroscape, A&A, and some others, but the service is pretty bad. They also had never heard of the game. It seems like the northside store and the valley store don't always stock the same items, either; I wonder what's up with that.
What else do you play, iiiHuman?

Well, for a while now, I haven't really played much of anything. I used to play Magic: The Gathering years ago and I still follow what's going on (card changes, rules changes, etc, etc) with it. But, I haven't played that for some years. I played GURPS for a bit there, too. Played some computer games, but nothing much with other people online. Need to upgrade my computer a bit again for the ones I want to play.
I set my contact preferences so you should be able to e-mail me if you want. I don't want to take up space here about myself or for something off-topic. Plus, I don't want to risk violating any possible code-of-conduct by talking too much about other games or something. But, please contact me via e-mail.

My store has had it since release day, but then, I've also been waiting for the game :)

I can believe this. The only reason I'm up on release dates and such is because I *know* my rep is near-useless and I spend time at work checking on things myself. Of course, its dumb on their part, since distributors need money too....

I hope that the "my store sold out" happens at a bunch of stores in *very* short spurts so that popularity and word of mouth spread about this, and other great games.
More power to the sales force!
