Current plans for the new game is to have quarterly expansions. The individual sets will have only a mild theme unity, such as an Eastern Front theme in the first expansion in December. All of the sets will have new vehicles and new troops, with the theme aspect only a secondary consideration. The ideas for potentially expanding to naval and aerial are only given a tentative consideration at this stage, highly dependent on how the game plays out.
Something here for everyone. :)

It may be a "secondary consideration" but it's still a factor. That is great news. I translate that to mean that the "theme" will probably get more figures aimed at the target and fewer "general" release figures. So the Soviets can probably expect to have their line beefed up quite a bit in December (maybe 8-10 of the 48 minis), while the rest of the nations gets "some". Very good.
Oh, if people have not done so yet, follow that link, then select the photo archives. You will see some new photos of the display, perhaps a dozen up close. Interesting views from the tops of some vehicles, and a bit better look at the details.
Thanks Vulture!

The image at the link below is interesting. It looks to be a very close range engagement between a Vickers MG and the alien life forms from the movie "Cacoon." The tricksy aliens have already destroyed the tank the MG was supporting.
