I fell in love with a new CCG last week at GenCon. Mystical Empire is the best CCG I have played in years. I started playing MtG during Revised and I've played countless other games since then, but none of them, not even Magic, compares to M.E. Have any of you tried it yet? I have a small group where I live that play it just about every day and the momentum is growing quickly. I'd like to know how the game is doing elsewhere.

I bought a starter and a few boosters of this game at Gencon, too. It looked like every other CCG at first, but then when I read the rules and saw how it played ... Wow! This game has a simple elegance and yet a potential richness shown by few other card games. And it's unencumbered by the "paying mana and tapping cards to pay for summoning creatures" rules that nearly all these games seem to share. Everything is on the cards themselves! I'm glad to know that someone else is playing it/interested in it. On the last day of Gencon, however, there was a hand-lettered sign displayed at the booth selling the game: "50% off all starters and boosters". I got the idea that it didn't do too well at the convention. I hope I'm wrong ...

Pardon my swooping in here to move this thread from AH discussion down to the Rec Room.

This game does sound very interesting! I'm feel bad now for missing it while attending GenCon. Maybe I'll have to pick up a couple of packs when it hits mass distribution.

It is already availible to retailers through Alliance and ACD Distributors. The Store where I live carries them and I'm pretty sure you can get it where you live too. Check it out, is is so worth the time!
