Here is another newbie question.
The Order of Play chapter, though it speaks of Strategic Bombardment on page 21, doesn't include its presence among the "Step 2: Conduct Opening Fire" actions.
Is the following sequence correct ?
Step 2: Conduct Opening Fire.
AA Fire
Surviving Bombers may make Strategic Bombing Raid
...
Step 3: Remove Opening Fire Casualties
Remove Strategic Bombing Bombers at the same time you remove Battleships that have conducted bombardments and submarines.

yes
and EACH surviving bomber gets to roll a d6 for IPC damage
the max damage they can do is the territory value PER Bomber
----so if the IC-territory is worth 4 ipcs, then each bomber could only do a maximum of 4 ipcs each

OK not to start a new thread I just ass my follow up here:
Just to make sure.
So If I had let's say 4 Bombers and sent them to Moskow, I could bomb all of the Soviet Players' 24 ICs? (Given I survive AA and roll four 6).
In the European Edition there was a rule that allowed Fighters to defend against SBR. This doesn't exist in A&A(World) '04, corrcect?
Hence there is no way to stop SBC except for AA fire.
Doesn't this make the British National Advantage "Radar" very very powerful? And the US's "Flying Fortress" as well? Later would just bomb the enemy without having to fear anything at all.
One more question aside: Does anyone actually play with the National Advantages? I got the feeling the Axis are way unterpowered by them. Japan for example only has two usable ones (Why would I saccrifice my Units, for they would only have a slight opening fire chance?).

Yes you can do damage up to the IPC value of the territory per bomber. A good house rule is to limit sbr damage to the value of the territory per turn, so you can bomb Moscow for at most 8 by Germany and another 8 by Japan.
There is no fighter defense against SBR in revised. I think they decided the game has enough rules.
The National advantages range from overpowering to worthless. Probably the rebalancing of the NAs are the most useful rule changes in the LHTR. Out of the box the NAs serve the purpose of shaking things up a bit and allowing a newbie to compete by giving him a really good NA. You can always rebalance the game after selection of NAs with a bid.

I prefer a maximum of 8IPC/turn for Moscow :D
I play AAR Enhanced ('AARe' in short or 'Enhanced') which includes NAs that are NOT broken. It also gives Jet Fighters the abbility to take out incoming SBR bombers and Kamikaze planes (if Japan has them) besides the standard @5 defense, and the decrease of the AAfire roll (from @1 to @0, unless UK has Radar). You'll have to spend money on tech to get them though, but it's just a minor tech (costs 4IPC/roll and a maximum of 24IPC in total).
