not 15mm, but 16mm or 17mm, remember that you measure from the feet to the eyes, not the top of the head/hat/hair

oh cool, this is almost just what i needed for now. :) Could you possibly do one more measurement? such as the width of the tank (or if you have the widest tank from the base set, I would like to know the width of it).

And alright, I'll say why. I'm going to attempt to create the 8 boards into 3d (it will be nigh impossible to make them flippable so I will have to somehow make it so all 8 will be able to stack in some way for portability). The reason why I need to know the width is so then I can make a semi-believable "forest" that will consist of only a few trees per hex and the ground painted a darker green, but I need to make sure tanks will fit between the trees and the city street.

Should I just make whole new map layouts if I can't get the 3d versions of these layouts to look okay?

To me, it looks closer to 15mm, maybe 16mm, in that picture. Have to subtract the height of the base, and from that pic it looks the base is 2mm.

Yeah...15 to 16mm for the infantry figure, measuring from the top of the base to eye level. The figures are sitting on something so that a mm or two is lost on the bottom. Pretty bloody close, in the case of the infantryman.

The infantry is or close to 15mm or 1:100 scale. Remember the number in mm means nothing unless you have something in the real world to measure it to. In this case you have the average human male measured from bottom of foot to the eyes (easier to see because of helms and stuff). In this case an average human at the eyes is about 155 to 165 cm. give or take. So divide that by 1.5 cm and it comes close to the 1:100 scale.

But the vehicle is closer to 1:120 scale.

Sherman M4A1 length and height is 6.2 m and 2.94 m respectivly.

according to the pics Sherman length is 5.2 cm and height(top of hatch) 2.5 cm so,

6.2m is 620cm / 5.2cm = 119 or close to 1:120
2.94 is 294cm / 2.5cm = 117 or close to 1:120

yup thats correct- the infantry is 15mm- some are a tad smaller but on average they are bang on (lol one of my clients had me do a line of 15mm WWII Finns so I know 15mm lol http://groups.msn.com/SculptingMiniatures/15mmwwiifinns.msnw ). The tanks are closer to 10-12mm depending on the tank so they are not 15mm. I'll pull one of my 15mm shermans out of mothballs when I go to my folks in a week or two to show how small this sherman really is lol.
