Does anyone know if any of the old Victory games
will be redone or have they reverted to their authors? I am interested info on Vietnam
and Civil War. There also was a Civil War
computer game that had lotsof bugs, I was wondering if AH or someone would be remaking that?
If Not How do we find out who 'owns rights' so
I can approch the said party to possibly convert these into computer Games and find out their status?

A don't think any of the 70 or so Victory Games have been redone. I think some of the people involved with Victory Games have moved onto other projects and companys like GMT or Avalanche Press.
I still play Vietnam: 1965-1975 and Ambush. Those are some games that would be great if they were redone!

70? Were there really that many? Just plucking a number out of my head, I would have put it closer to 20. (Panzer Command was my favorite. Loooove that game. Followed closely by Pelopennesian War.)
Anyway, to attempt to answer your question, Avalon Hill per se won't be doing any computer games. Hasbro struck a deal with Infogrames giving them the rights to electronic versions of the games. Any such game would have to be sublicensed from Infogrames.
If you or anyone else is a legitimately qualified programmer/developer/packager/entrepreneur with serious aspirations to pursue such a license/business opportunity, the person to contact is

Note that I'm not giving out his phone number or email address. If you're serious, you'll take the time to write a letter and put a stamp on it. ;)

I think there are a ton of games just like Cold War that could be redone. Couldn't Hasbro redo a Cold War from VG and package it as Post Axis and Allies????

I had thought that VG's Cold War would have been good for the type of games AH/Hasbro released. It would be good not only for the Cold War era but can represent current situations as well - maybe add/update some of the cards, and produce nice 3D playing pieces.
