Gentlemen:
My brother inlaw and I played this scenario last saturday and found it to be very fun and challenging. I hope you like it too.
Saludos y Suerte :D
Title: The Battle for Carpiquet (France 1944 near the city of Caen)
Synopsis: In the reworking of Operation Epsom, around July 2nd and 3rd, the job of taking Carpiquet, an industrial suburb of Caen which included the airfield, was allotted to the Canadians. It was clear to both sides that the Allied capture of Carpiquet was strategically essential in the attempt to take Caen by encirclement, and that if the Germans lost the high ground covered by this little town, it would be impossible for them to continue to hold Caen. The 8th Canadian Infantry Brigade, with an extra regiment, the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, were to be supported by tanks from the Fort Gary Horse and flame throwers from the 79th Armoured division. Carpiquet was held by the fanatical teenagers from the 12th. SS Division "Hitlerjugend" (Hitler Youth) and german tanks which were called up out of reserves.
Victory Conditions: The "Standard" victory conditions datailed in page 7 of the Axis & Allies Miniatures Advanced Rulebook apply to this scenario. (At the end of turn 7 the player who controls de objective wins the game. If neither player wins in turn 7,keep playing. At the end of each turn, see if either player controls the objective. If neither player has won by the end of turn 10,count the point cost of units on the battle map. The player whose units are worth the most points is the winner).
Allied Army build: The allied player must build a 100 point army using any number of units from the following list:
6-Pounder Antitank Gun (UK)
Churchill Crocodile (UK)
Humber Scout Car (UK)
Inspiring Lieutenant (UK)
M3 Stuart (UK)
Royal Engineers (UK)
SMLE No.4 Rifle (UK)
Vickers Machine-Gun Team (UK)
M4A1 Sherman (US)
M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight" (US)
No other allied units can be used in this scenario.
The allied player deploys second in the first 2 hexes of the board edges made by Baker-2 and Able-2 as to the map confugaration: 4 "Urban Combat"
Axis Army build: The axis player must build a 100 point army using any number of units from the following list:

MG42 Machine-Gun Team (GE)
PAK 38 Antitank Gun (GE)

Map set-up: Use map configuration: 4 "Urban Combat" as in page 6 of the Axis & Allies Miniatures Advanced Rulebook.
Special Rules: No special Rules apply to this scenario.
Aftermath: Although the Canadians were able to attain the village on July 4th, largely through hand to hand combat, they could not take the air-field, and therefore could not secure total possession of Carpiquet. The Canadians suffered enormous losses in a horrible, three day battle of attrition over this one village.
