How many infantry units is one infantry mini supposed to represent? I've heard people on this forum say 10 or so infantry minis represents a platoon, and so on, and I'm really confused.

Also, are the infantry scaled properly with the vehicles? The Sd Kfz 251 is supposed to be able to carry 10 infantry, yet it looks it can only carry 2-3 SS PGs.

Each infantry figure represents one squad or fireteam.

In US practice, a infantry platoon that's part of a 1943+ Armored Division would have 3 rifle squads, 1 .30cal MG sqd w 2 aircooled MGs, and one 60mm Mortar sqd w 1 mortar. Each rifle sqd includes a Bazooka.

A line company would have 3 rifle platoons, an Anti-Tank platoon of 3x 57mm AT guns, and a HQ section. Each company has 18 bazookas as part of its complement of weapons.

Scale is mentioned in the Adv Rules Book on pg.10.

Miniature scales are is 15mm (i believe for the infantry), or 1/120 (for the vehicles).

Each vehicle mini represents 1 vehicle and each soldier mini represents "several" soldiers. IMHO it represents 1 squad and thus about 12 soldiers.

I googled this page and it is very informative.

Scale between infantry and vehicles is not correct, to answer your other question. I doubt many Panzergrenadiers were taller than a Tiger! However, from a game point of view, inoreder to make the minis fit on a reasonably sized board and have them be big enough to see (soldiers) and yet small enough to share a hex with the soldier (vehicle) the soldier is supersized or the tank is shrunken, depending on which you use as "real-life" scale.

One of my house rules is to use infantry in groups of 4 or 5 to make it seem more realistic, having 5 troops bunched into a hex looks much better than a single model.

So how do you fit one Vehicle and three Soldiers in one hex?

To reiterate a previous poster's comments, Soldiers and Vehicles do not use the same scale. The Soldiers are 15mm, and the Vehicles are 1/120. If I recall correctly, 15mm scale is close to 1/100.

Assuming the average height of a man is 165cm, then 15mm scale is 1/110.

Looking back at the vehicles, some of them do look like 1/120 but others looks like 1/120+.
