I'm betting there will be a Stug or a Hetzer in the next set. (slaps dollar on table). Any takers?

I'm thinking 'no' on Hetzer, 'Yes' on StuG.

As the Uncommons I'm up for a Stug or Pz111 for the Axis and a Su76 for the allies as the bigger vehicles and Puma, M3 1/2track for the wee ones. It's great to speculate but not worth a damm really.

I'm still holding out hope that there will be a StuG III and a Panzer III, maybe one as rare and one as an uncommon.

I'm hoping that the Germans & Russians get units to compete with the Rhino.
Brushcutters (easier access to cover) and Veteran Crew (increases usefulness of cover, negates disruption) on a 26-point Sherman outclasses any existing tank on any side.
And the German / Russian competitive tanks had better cost less than 40 points. The expensive tanks were already risky, but 11-point Wehrmacht Sniper turns them into sitting ducks.
Set 1 was very reasonably balanced- especially in comparison to other collectible minis games. The only obviously undercosted set 1 units are the Sherman and the SS-Panzergrenadiers. In contrast, the set 2 Rhino is even more efficient than the Sherman. What happened to the playtest team after set 1?
I'm still hoping that the other 38 units in set 2 will turn out to fix those broken units.
But at this stage it's more a "hope" than anything we have evidence for...

Who wants to bet that one of the set 2 units will be a Czech Skoda Works based AFV:
Panzer 38t (Czech tank sold to Germany and Axis minor countries)
Marder III (75mm Pak 40/3 L/46 on open top 38t chassis)
Marder III (w/ captured Soviet 76.2mm AT Gun, rechambered for German ammo)
Jagdpanzer 38t Hetzer (75mm Pak 39 L/48, enclosed w/ sloped armor & low silhouette)

I bet there will be a Nashorn and a gamebreaker sherman ;)
Take the challenge: I won, because the Sherman is good, but not gamebreaking (and I prefer to play axis)

I don't think the Germans bought any Pz38(t) tanks from the Czechs -- they simply took them is more like it. But yeah, the Pz38(t) is almost certainly a given for Set 2, maybe as an uncommon.

That's for sure. We've only been introduced to a few of set II's units. The only problem with one unit fixing another is that from then on out both players will always have to include those units in their builds or run the risk of being at a disadvantage if their opponent includes it's opposite.
I can't wait to see how this is going to shake out. It's too early to reasonably say the Rhino is a game breaker, but it does raise a few eyebrows. Will the Hetzer have a Forest Runner SA? Will the 88 ignore cover rolls? I'm not sure what kind of SA's would counter the Rhino, unless it is a German AFV with the same SA's. Over the next few weeks, more Opening Salvo's should shed some light on this.
