OK, I suck at using the Humber. I used it to kill more points than it is worth, but I can't get the hang of maneuvering it out of dangers' way, even with the +2 extra move; the bad guys just chase it. (Usually a Panzershreck up the tailpipe.) Any suggestions from you grizzled veterans?

If youve used it to kill more points then it's worth then your on the right track. I just got my 1st one today (traded a Stuart m5 for it) so i donno how usfull it is yet, but I'm gonna try it eather to support my new jeep witch I also just pulled today or also to try and take out enemy comanders and inf. I guess we'll see tommorrow.

Try to use Humbers in pairs, with one covering the other. Move them behind enemy lines to thwart the Axis infantry advance, while having your more heavily armored units keep the Axis armor busy. Be patient, though. Wait until his infantry are vulnerable.
Humbers are great at killing infantry. Stay at Medium range if you can. If not, it's no big deal. Get in there and kill his MG teams or his commanders, if possible. Prioritize your targets. If he's got Panzergrenadiers out there...shoot them first. I can't tell you how deadly those guys are! Without drawing cover, I was able to shrug off attacks from five enemy units with one panzergrenadier! They are no joke!

Humbers, and any other units with Strike and Fade, need to think about the Assault phase during the Movement phase. Before you move that unit into an attack position, you need to know where it's going to fade to after its attack. If you're moving second, then consider not exposing it at all or keeping it at long range, because secondary AT weapons such as rockets, ATGs, and even MGs have a decent chance to destroy or disrupt an armored car. Once it's disrupted, an AC is probably dead the following turn. So handle them with care, meaning, don't give the enemy a clear shot in the second assault phase or any shot in the first assault phase.

Try to move first on the turn you want to attack. Use terrain to hide them. Like everyone is saying work in pairs or matching the up with another tank in a shoot and scoot operation.
Also, don't be afaid to sacrafice them. I usually have a couple of 222s in my german groups just to keep my opponents honest, but you never know when it will be worth while to slip them in behind the lines to carve up an exposed unit or two. This can be make the difference slowing down an infantry advance or killing a leader. I used this tatic to take out a couple of engineers in one game and the Inspiring LT in another.
If you want a potent and cheap force, match up a Humbar with a Hellcat. Both are fast and with the Hellcat you have the heavy punch to take on tank. Put these teams on the flank and use them to threaten the axis tanks from cover. As soon a you knock out the Axis tanks use the Humbar to gut the infantry.

I normaly use my Humbers in pairs to defend my tanks. When anti-tank infrantry try to get too close, my Humber come out and kill them, while my tanks focus on the enemy armor.
