Will we get to see the US atom bomb as a LE or super rare? Or more than likely a scenerio depecting the disruption of heavy water supply for the Nazi atom bomb [which allies found out at end of war that it was just a experimental reactor]?

Excellent idea. Let's stat the A-bomb.

Cost 1,000,000 points
Attack (all ranges, Soldiers and Vehicles) 50,000
Blast
Bombardment
Strategic Weapon - This unit's attack affects all units within 500 hexes of the target hex.

No no, that's how much it would cost for the Germans.

For the allies:
Cost: Free
Move: Infinite
Defense: Invinicible
Attack: 1 million dice (better borrow the neighbors)
SA: Destroys all axis forces on map (just in case someone makes a pesky cover roll). Allied units unharmed, even if in same hex as axis units.

At this rate, we should see this unit by set five...

But then I want: V3: Can hit New York and Washington DC. Ends war immediately. ;)

The V-3 existed, they were huge cannon buried in subterranean bomb-proof shelters intended to pound London with high-explosive. The caverns were bomb-proof until 617 Sqn dropped a couple of Grandslams on them.

Atomic weapons have no place at all in a tactical wargame such as this, in fact I'd go as far to say that Nuclear weapons have no place in a wargame at all. They are too overwhelming. Anyone ever played a wargame with nukes? Who really wants a weapon that will automatically wipe out everything on the board?

Somebody who is losing... ;)

Yep, but that then puts one side in a position where they can never win. Lose fairly and you lose, or you can be winning fairly until your opponent nukes you and you lose. You may as well not bother even unpacking your figures since there is no way you can win whatever happens.

(Winning isn't everything I know but if there is only one way the game can end it makes it dull. Really stupidly dull. Trust me, I've played games with nukes, the only way they can work at all is in a strategic level game)

Speaking of bomb maybe some Napalm.

Great for Cooking marshmallows, steak or an unwanted Japanese battalion. :D

The A- bomb should be:

Super Super Rare $100 to purchase as a single and when used it's used before the battle, after deployment and it destroys every mini on the board. Then you must re-set up the battlefield using units that were not destroyed by the A-Bomb.

Ha! That would stop those 3x Rhino armies - you'd destroy all his Rhinos, and force your opponent to build a new army without them.

Be careful, you might develop a viable unit.

...but then ppl would just stock up on 6 Rhino's...

6 Rhinos? 2 A-Bombs.

And the next game after an A-bomb is used, the Japanese player gets Godzilla? :D

Ouch a A-bomb in this game? I can see if you wanted to do a scenario like some one mentioned other than that every one on the board is going to get pwnd

Wow, I was expectin' at least one post.

Also with the US Atom Bomb LE, we should get the Noriegian [sp?] resistance fighters who helped with the disruption of the heavy water supply line to the Nazi atomic research. And get a autograph from the suriviving resistance fighter and really make it a collecter's item. [The resistance fighter is still living today, seen him on Nova]

Sieze fire Patton4014. After all the responses about this, it sounds like that a set should use the experimental weapons and vehicles of WW2. What do you guys think?

I think that would be very fun to have. Just think, we could finally see the Panther 2 and the Maus!

Oh oh oh, the German Flying Wing Bomber, The Dambusters, The Japanesse x-planes.

I'd say concentrate on the stuff that was there and in service first, get the full range of that out before you start messing around with the experimentals and "What if...?" kit.

Agreed. As much as I would like to see "wunderwaffen" units, there is MUCH that is still needed for this game, before we see the likes of the Maus. I also would have waited a bit for the planes. Lotta tank variants and axis/allies minors to be added to the mix.

The A-bomb will come with a special edition A&A mini's zippo lighter. Part of the effect will be to melt all deployed figures.

Anyone up for some Ironman wargaming? :D

AAM atom bomb is what happens when you forget your box of minis in your car under sunshine during the summer.

Atomic Bomb: Wait until your opponent is set up. Game ends in a draw. Thanks for coming out.

For Atomic related scenarios (not the ones with huge monsters), it's easy enough: do an assault scenario. Where the objective counter is is where they're making the [insert here].

I was thinkin' more of a percentage hit. I used a nuke percentage hit as a joke at a MechWarrior tournament once, came up with a interesting situation.
