Why is it impossible for an infantry unit which represents a sqauad or half a squad of infantry to harm a tank? There should be some way, since they could do any number of things to disable or harm it. Why can't they?
P.S. I mean in the same square as an enemy vehicle.
Edit in response to Wotc_Bob:
When I said "in the same square" I meant close assult. But why is it impossible to do the same or something else from a few squares? I'm sure a soldier could throw a grenade at least five tank lengths. Why not just throw it into the treads and cripple (or in this case disrupt) it?

I believe every infantry unit has a Close Assault ability that gives it an increased attack value against vehicles in the same hex. Since they also get to choose whether they attack against the front or rear defense of the unit, this is usually sufficient to give them a reasonable chance of disrupting, damaging or destroying a vehicle (depending on the specific vehicle).

The Close Assault ability is intended to represent satchel charges, incendiary grenades, molotov cocktails, throwing a grenade into a hatch and all other manner of improvised methods infantry have used to overcome tanks at close range.

Remember that each hex on the AAM maps is 100 yards. Not even Brett Favre (or Audie Murphy) could throw a grenade 300 yards, and it takes something considerably heavier than a grenade to damage a tank by being randomly placed on or near it. Without special-purpose weapons, most infantry are effectively helpless against tanks until they get close enough to touch them. That's really the whole point of tanks.
