This post will list varients of the PzKpfw 38(t)

Ausf A-D minor production changes, 37mm main gun, 2 7.92mm machineguns, 25mm armor on front, 15mm on sides. Top speed of 48kph on roads, 20kph off road, range of 250km. 90 rounds maingun ammo and 2400 rounds of MG ammo were carried. Turret was hand traversed. One mild-steel prototype was tested by the British in 1939

Ausf E-G increased front armor to 50mm on the drivers front plate and turret front. Side armor increased to 30mm.

Ausf S Sweden ordered 90 tanks, but in 1940 their production was suspended to allow work on Wehrmacht orders, Later the Germans confiscated the Swedish tanks. They entered service in late '40.

LT vz 40- 21 Ordered by the Slovak army as a lighter and cheaper version of the -38.

TNH n.A. Recon tank- 15 tanks were enteredinto OKW trials for a recon tank. This version had a 250hp V8 engine that resulted in a top speed of over 60kph. 37mm main gun and 35mm front armor, welded construction.

Munitionsfhrzeug 38t, 102 ammo carriers for sIG 33, turret and front MG removed from standard hull, weighed 8 tons, planned for 2 per 6 sIG33s

Panzerjager 38t fur PAK 36(r) aka SdKfz 139- After the invasion of Russia, the 37mm cannon was clearly obsolete. Having captured many Soviet 76.2mm cannon, the 38t was turned into an assault gun. The turret and top superstructure were removed (easy due to the bolted construction) A cradle was fashioned for the gun, with elevation limits to prevent the breech from hitting the floor in recoil. a 15mm gunshield was provided. 4 man crew, 30 rounds carried on board. 4.15kg shell could penetrate 94mm of armor at 1000m. 363 units were converted.

PzJag 38t fur 7,5cm PAK 40 SdKfz 138. Similar to the -139, it mounted a German PAK 40 after that weapon was available in 1942. The gun could penetrate 90mm of armor at 1000m. 358 units were produced on the Ausf H chassis. A further 975 were built on the Ausf M chassis. Production ran from Nov 42 to May 44.

sIG33 ausf H/M Grille SdKfz 138/1. 15cm field gun on tracked chassis. 90 vehicles were produced starting in Feb 43 on the aush H chassis, and an additional 282 vehicles on the ausf M chassis from April 43 to Sept 44. The aush M chassis had a relocated engine.

SdKfz 140/1 recon varient with an opentopped turret containing a 20mm cannon and a coax MG

Flakpanzer 38 SdKfz 140, mounted a 20mm antiaircraft cannon in a lightly armored turret.

Jagdpanzer 38t Hetzer- Fully enclosed Panzerjager, 60mm frontal armor, same 7.5cm cannon as the -138, 2584 were produced by March 45.

Flammpanzer 38t. similar to the Hetzer, with a flame projector instead of a antitank cannon.

15cm sIG33 auf Jgpz 38t. Same fully enclosed hull as the Hetzer, mounting the 15cm field gun used in the sIG 33. 30 built from Dec 44 to Feb 45

Built too late to fight, the leichter Eineitswaffentrager 38d mounted a 8.8cm PAK 43.
