Just purchased the game and tried to play it but am having trouble with the rules. They just don't seem to explain things very well. The main question I have right now is, when do you use event cards? Does each player draw one on his turn or do you wait until there is an empty space on the board. A breif uncomplicated overview of game play would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you recieve income only on your turn or at each players turn? Does each player get an oppurtunity to bid on a propert at each persons turn or on theirs only? Thanks in advance for any help.

1)You draw cards to "fill in" the empty premier spots...whether it is a large square, small square tile, or a rectangle on from the card drawn (it is the symbol/shape printed on the middle of the event card.
2) The event card is in play until the "conditions" on the card is met!
3) When the turn sequence is played out, players (in turn order) start bidding, renovating, etc. (First player plays first...then 2nd and so on)
4)All players earn income at the same time (in player order of course)
...hope that helps!
(I agree, some rules are a bit vague...especially the 'timing' of the event cards and when to draw a premiere tile for the event card being played/ fullfilling the conditions.)

Thanks for your help. Anyone else with any other clarifications of the rules please let me know, will probably attempt to play it again in a few days, it looks like such a fun game but spending hours trying to figure out what the rules mean is discouraging when you only have a short time to play.

I agree with Wolfman... it isn't exactly clear, but after playing the first "turn" incorrectly on our first game, we started over and haven't looked back since. What initially confused us is that we used the "Turn Order button" for the player that had the button ONLY. That of course is wrong. The "turn order button" describes the actions that EVERYONE takes during that turn. The person with the button just takes his/her actions first.
Great game.

I have a question as well. When you draw an events card that makes you move the minimum bid marker up or down, do you only do it for the premier tiles in play when the card is drawn, or for all of them after the spaces are filled? Thanks.
