This scenario is based apon the the movie Stlingrad made in 1992 its forign. But a good movie any back to the point.

The scenario is the fight in the snow.

The Germany player is going to be playing as Captain Hermann. Its Dec of 42 Stalingrad has benn surronded by the russians for 4 weeks. The Russians have attacked the Germany line at Marinovka. espite heavy losses the Germans held. the Russians are going to try to attack again Hermann as recuit Germany soldiers that have been court marshelled. to defend the position. This spot is key because General Hoths panzer division is kilometers away from Marinovka.

The Russians force is going to try to prevent that by taking Marinvoka and tighting the noose around stalingrad.

This battle will be played on Dog-1 and Charlie-2 Both names are in the bottom left corner of map.

No T-34/85s at Stalingrad. They weren't available for another year or so.

In fairness, the initial limited production run of T-34/85s did indeed get deployed in the last couple months of '42.

"The modernization of the T-34 was decided upon at a meeting of the State Defense Committee on August 25, 1943, after the severe losses at the battle of Kursk. V. G. Grabin, chief designer at Artillery Factory No. 92, suggesting in the spring of 1943 to us a long barrelled 85 mm tank gun to uparm the T-34."

The idea for a T-34/85 came up after the Battle of Kursk, long after Stalingrad.

"Production started in late 1943 and entered service in Guard units in March 1944."

I've watched it a few times...it's damn gruesome. I still have problems watching the last 10 minutes or so.
