If you have Initiatve, how do YOU decide if you will move first or pass it to your opponent? What factors do you consider? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Terrain, army build, map and initial set-up. I try to get to the objective first and let my opponent attack me.

Personally i play alot of differnt types of games and going last is a strong incentive.. i usually allow my opp to move first because it allows you to make the better tactics to counter... its easy to counter then to be countered. the only time i change this is when inf are too close to certin units or when he has a flaming unit really close as well... well thats my reasoning anyway.

My rules are these:

Go second unless:

-You wanna move twice (or 3 times with leutnant) infantry into cover before being shoot

-You wanna use strike and fade

-You really don't want your opponent to use strike and fade

-You have infantry able to go into close assault to a tank

I haven't played with BAR gunner nor snipers, but I guess they can modify this.

One thing i look for is if I want to move a unit during the attack phase, if I do, I might want do it as the second player because I might be moving into the other persons line of site and, of course, i son't want to be shot at. If you guys understand what I mean.
