View Full Version : Will AAM follow DDM and SWM with a Huge AAM set?
I was just wondering what are the odds that in some future AH AAM set release that it will be a Huge Set like what they have release for D&D and Star Wars. Then the next thought that popped in my head was just what would be in it? Since Set III has planes I could see a Huge Set having larger plans (i.e. bombers), but what else might require a Huge Set expansion, any ideas?

Some will expect ships and submarine, but I don't!
I want to stay in the ground level as much as possible, but I ain't a designer over here, so what will show up in the future is almost a mystery.

A&AM will only release a Huge set if they want to do Naval units in a similar scale to the vehicles. And while cool, there'd be no hope of playing out a proper naval engagement with units of that size.

It would be cool if they did like Battlesets. Like the old plastic soldiers used to come in boxes representing D-Day, El Alamein, Battle of the Bulge, Kursk, etc. Would include specific units, and be a way to possibly introduce actual terrain and new units at the same time. They could also introduce campaigns, and put in campaign books for scenarios, and historic information...maybe I'm dreaming...or maybe too much Nyquil.

Nyquil is good!!! ;)
I would see that also, Specific campaign, but not before all nation have been cover with all tanks and infantry.
Let say they do Arnheim... Perfect, you need something representing a bridge, some city buildings and Poles Para.
Could be done for every situation that develop and was recorded as a WWII grand event.
I do not know about mini's but I would like to see and double sided vinly mats with able-fox maps on them.

Maybe a set with pieces with bases the size of Oreos like the PAK 40?
Bigger and better maps with landing craft that can come and drop off troops, go "off board" and return with more troops. Transport ability that can carry 1 vehicle or 2 soldier pieces.
If they do make a big set I'd be okay with bunkers, sandbags, buildings, bridges, and other things like that.

Would LOVE to see a huge set with 8-12 uncommon and rare 15MM scaled terrain pieces for those of us that don't use the maps (like myself). Bunkers, bridges, ruined buildings, well done lakes -- it would be fun IMO, but it will never happen as their outlook seems to be toward improving the maps, not eliminating them.

Since we're all dreaming here, how about 3D terrain hex tiles (at 3" across, for more room), such as the pieces they released with the premier Settlers of Catan game.

What might be nice is a set with props and such you could put on the board. Buying a box of little houses, bunkers, trenches, landmines and other goodies would be fun!

I said this before, without much positive support... but glad to see there is at least one other person who thinks this is a good idea.

It might be a great idea! I like the idea of landing craft; give me more to use all these Marines with. Maybe more Japanese heavy artillery to shoot up the Marines with.
I have it! Tarawa in a box!

With very few Exceptions all the Land Based WWII equipment would fit in the standard booster. Even the Maus should fit, as long as its not scaled to match the HellCat. ;)
I'd love to see some RailGuns, and even most of those would fit in a booster.

If they include ships with this game I am guessing it would be way down the road like set 8 or 10.

How about a set based on Stalingrad only? I would buy a case or three of that. ;)

Lol it's Arnhem, the germans call it Arnheim :P. But I agree, a set based on Operation Market Garden would be neat :).

I'm not particularily interested in A&AM huges, since that's fairly limited to ships, but I would like to see new maps, and from the different theatres during the war.

All I want is an Aircraft Carrier large enough to put my Aircraft on. I guess that would require a Colossal pack like the AT-AT, huh? Oh well.
Oh and I almost forgot. I need F4U Corsairs and F6F Hellcats too,...thanks.

We would need heroes like Hulk and Superman to fight them!

I could see them doing a huge set with 100+ minis.

If we're talking super heroes relevant to WWII how about Captain America and Red Skull.

Well, I assumed set III would be a huge set. If the planes would be scaled anything near the scale of the vehicles (except *NOT* the 3" ATGun!), they could do it so that the planes would *be* the huges...

I thought that the set with the aircraft would be the large set with the aircraft being the large pieces.
