Mike, I only have one question of you. As lead game designer, did/should you have some input into the number of units and chips that should have been included with the set?

If so, do you think we are all getting ahead of ourselves (i.e. do you believe there are enough pieces and chips to make the game playable 95% of the time without having to forage through older editions of MB's AA, AAE or AAP).

As for the trays (or lack thereof), no one blames you for that one. ;)

OK, I admit it, that was more than one question but please give me answers anyway. redface.gif

Those are fair questions, DY. I had input on everything. I didn't always have final say, but I'm certain it would've been a worse game if I did have final say on everything. At Avalon Hill, things are done in teams, so everything you like and don't like about the game can be credited to the entire team.

I personally think it's reasonable for anyone to complain about anything related to the game, with the exception of your complaint about my disappearance from the boards for 18 freakin' hours. smile.gif

Your "95%" question is unanswerable. What matters is your experience. If you have issues in actual gameplay, you should bring them up so people can hear.

Mike,

After playing several games, I would like to say you have done a great job! Playability is so varied now, especially in the Eastern front. As for the pieces issue, I am sure it will be resolved soon. Anyways, great job and keep them coming!

MikeGlad you spotted that one Mike. It was probably 18 hours on a Sunday too :D

Nah, I was just stirring the pot a little about that one, I am actually amazed you check in so much on weekends.

A few people complained about the new piece colours (not your department), but others have pointed out that having 2 new colours allows for more customizability for those who own AAE and AAP (allowing Italians, Free French, expanded Chinese etc).

A lot of people complained about typos, but I defended AH on this too.

I do think it sounds like not enough pieces were included with the game and this may especially be detremental for those who don't own other Axis titles. But for those of us who do, I guess we have to make a judgement call. I know probably 99% of the "whingers" (myself included) on these boards will be satisfied if AH makes bags of extra units available at a fair price.

My Brits are in three different shades of whatever that color is supposed to be....
My Magic cards are almost thicker than my control markers...
My ...oh well...

Even if people (myself included)have complaints about the items in the box, it looks like a lot of thought and effort went into making it a great game, so you have my thanks for that.
