I have been trying to make a Russian army, and with Set II it may have become a reality (Mother Russia gets non command dependant inf.!).
Here's mine:
KV-1 x2 64 pts.
Cossack Cpt. x1 9 pts
PPSh-41 SMG x3 9pts
Fanatical Sniper x1 8 pts
Mortar M2 (no Russian mortar yet) x1 6 pts
Bazooka (I feel quite certain that the Russians were given American Bazookas, or they captured German Panzershreks) x1 4 pts

Note: Can sub Sniper for Zis (AT Gun)

Any thoughts are welcome.

Looks okay.I haven't tried mortars in action yet,so I don't know how they do."inaccurate" doesn't seem like a special ability to me :)

99 pts.Alternatively,sub KV 1+T 34/85 and an extra 3pt infantry of choice.

These are my first build posts,and I apologize if someone posted these before...I haven't read every thread.My next game is at least a few weeks away,and I'd be interested to know how anybody does with these armies.Enjoy!!

IS-2 is a fine tank but it is just too vulnerable to Headshot. Try out the Guards T-34/85. I think you will find it an excellent value for the points.

09 Cossack Captain (on KV-1)
32 KV-1
33 Guards T-34/85
05 Commissar
04 Bazooka
08 Sniper (or Zis 57mm)
09 M-N (or PPSh) x3

This army won't lay a glove on a top-tier army like Tiger, Croc+Sherman or the Parabomb but should be good otherwise.

We have a tournament coming Sunday - 2-man teams, each player gets a 200 point build, but only 15 units!!! And the judge has already leaked the word that the boards will have minimum cover!

I have almost no Russians so I went Lend lease - I am figuring one of two builds:

SHERMAN RUSH:Total - 200 Points
9 x M4a1 Shermans - 189 points
2 x Jeeps - 8 points
1 x PPSh-1941 SMG

Figure on moving last and rushing his Big tanks while the jeeps wait for turn 7!

TOUGH SHERMANS: 200 points
2 x M4a3e8 "Easy Eight" Shermans - 104 points
4 x M4a1 Shermans - 84 points
1 x Cosssak Captain 9 points
1 x PPSh-1941 SMG - 3 points

Use Easy eights to fix attention of enemy armor and then get Shermans around behind

The second is least favorable to me right now but even the vaunted "Sherman Rush" will be torn apart on a three wide board with little cover and a three hex set on!
