We have a 2-man, 200 point per player build - 15 unit maximum - for Sunday and I am bothered because the judge has already let word that the board will be three wide, little cover and it is Germans vs Russians!

My Germans are limited - I was going to do a Panzergrenadier-Halftrack build until I saw the limited units.

I am Thinking of this MONSTER Build:

GERMANS:200 Points Total
1 x King Tiger - 71 points
2 x Tiger I - 126 points
1 Fusil Modello 1892 - 3 points

Using the Italian because it is unlikely for any other unit to get nailed first
so the +2 dice will make them tougher.

Use stand-off tactics to rape the Soviets while the Fusil moves for an objective hex (plans are for three per game) and when the Soviet armor is cooked, take a second with my tanks. I have done up several Soviet builds and none seem to be able to overpower at long range.

This build is seriously lacking any significant anti-soldier capability. A few Bazookas or engineers could give this build a serious problem. I'd trade out a Tiger I and put in a Brummbar (or 2), haupsturmfuhrer and some SS-PGs.

I can appreciate your wanting a heavy tank force against the Russians. However, without any officers, you aren't going to win many initiative rolls. This can be less of a problem if you plan to pretty much hunker down for the game and let him come to you. The bigger the map and the farther away you start from him the better for you.

I'll have to go with Herbavida on this one. You definately need to balance out your forces. Even so if your build were to appear on my board I would shudder in terror.

Steve, remember the Soviets don't have any extended range units. So as long as you can keep your Half-Tracks 8 hexes away from enemy armor (admitted difficult to do, but I'll be there to keep 'em at bay) your PzG force should still work. I'm worried by the announcement that there won't be much cover on the board. T'will make for a very short game, methinks.
