Go play Navy Field on-line, if you want ships. No subs, but you can work up from frigates to battleships.

Of course, you want to start today, as tomorrow it goes 'retail', meaning you pay $$ every month.

(Actually, you only need to pay once you reach level 30--about halfway to battleships.)

Just think of it: we complain about "Extended range 20", but a typical battleship would have "Extended Range 100" or much more...
