Photoner, these look like excellent maps for A&AM! Have you tried using them?

I've played on them. They're at a different scale, I think 40m hexes rather than 100m hexes. They're certainly visually appealing, but you run into problems with hexes that contain more than one type of terrain. They can be acquired fairly inexpensively from Multiman Games, so I'd recommend picking them up for some diversity.

They can also be downloaded for free at this site if you have the correct paper size to print on. Unfortunately, I purchased them before I found this site.
I thought about possibly just doubling the ranges to compensate for the map scale, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I have the Deluxe ASL maps. I've converted some of the scenarios, just haven't had a chance to play them yet.

I hope people try their hand and making maps as well. I'm doing my best to get resources together for this end (this is getting difficult to do since my work/academics must take precidence). Hence why I am keeping the Maps 101 thread alive. Once map creation has been simplified, so it requires a minium of skill and effort. perhaps we'll start seeing even more maps around. I'd even be willing to host some peoples work if they can't find space. Until then I definately recomend using the ASL maps, the little cardboard bonus hexes in the promo kits, and just markering off large sheets of paper, felt, ect.

Ok. I just joined this Yahoo group. These mods are amazing (SU-122, Jagdpanzer)! Perhaps I will start contributing..... Thanx for the link Hornet69!
Speaking about maps, If WotC ever releases a starter edition set (after set 3), it would be nice for them to include new map sheets other than A-B-C-D. Maybe the new 'official' maps they have made or an entirely new set of maps.
Also, seeing the bas size for those planes will make it hard to fit 2 pak-40's, a KT and a plane in the same hex :) ... just kidding about fitting that in the same hex, but they ARE small sometimes, especially for units which have big bases or some vehicles which are just plain BIG..

Help a poor technophobe out! I found the site and the maps, but what size paper is right and how do I get it to print at the proper scale. I had tried taking the .jpg over to adobe photoshop, but the map came out very small.
Thanks,
Chris

I'm hoping that in the future we'll get new starters with North Africa (desert) maps, and even coastlines (landing craft anyone?).
