I've been debating whether or not to post in this thread. I'm not sure I could provide an unbiased voice in this matter (I voted anyway). I appreciate the fact that most of you like my campaign so far, and I've still got one more scenario to post (The maps need more work). On the issue on whether or not these scenarios should be 'adopted' by WotC, I am personally inclined to agree with Jiminy_Fatal. The nature of creating a scenario that hews so close to history, makes some aspects of the practicability of playing it a tricky issue. For now, T34/76s are hard to come by and I don't think there is a single person on the planet who will have the minis required to play the last scenario (excluding WotC employees). Substitutions are a simple fact of life, though I don't enjoy playing any less with Shermans pretending to be T34s. I like the scenarios that WotC posts. They give a good overview of the history, but they above all else are accessable to anybody (Well maybe not the one with the KV-1s and PZIIIs) to play. I'm sure their writers are just as qualified as I am to craft a scenario in a similar fashion. However, it would create some diificulties. Not only do my scenarios require an inordinate ammount of minis to play, but they require new maps to be printed off. It means that they work well for more experienced players like us, but would simply be intimidating to a newcomer to the game. Once this campaign is done, I will be moving on to another. If WotC likes my work or even if they notice it, then that is good enough incentive to continue contributing to the community. I do this because it fun, a learning experience, and I must admit I like the attention I recieve (my admittedly low self-esteem at work). I hope my own academic work is as well recieved (I've got work that I will submit to academic journals soon). I'm glad people like these truly historical scenarios. You will see many more of them while I am here. I have found my niche on the boards, and I can be counted on to continue producing long into the lifespan of this fine game. This is how I love my hobby. I've invested a fair piece of money in this game, but what I get out of it through the game itself, the community, the sandbox approach I can take with it and the friends I have made has been more than worth it.

If Pasalades, PatrickWR, Mex10MM, or any other writers get official recognition, more power to them. I don't see what the big deal is about making a scenario "official". Though I think official recognition would be great, the real appreciation comes when people play the scenarios, official or not, and tell the writers what was good or bad about them. That's the real icing on the cake. Having official recognition is nice, but I think regular appreciation is better.

I think Pasalades' scenarios deserve high marks. They show a lot of work, with very detailed history, and the maps are something that few others have done so far. But should they be "official"? It's really up to the A&AM staff to say what "official" means, or whether they even need to grant "officialhood" to the rabble in the forums. I'm just happy to hear when someone has appreciated my work, period.

I wonder, do the A&AM mods and staff play some of our homegrown scenarios?

On a side note, I think I'll add "Playing Time" to my scenarios, just like on BoardGameGeek, to give players a better idea of how long they should expect to play each game.

Hi there,

I must say that I am a big fan of the scenarios. They force players to use a more or less historical composition of battle forces and hence add a bit of reality. Therefore, I prefer scenario over normal 100 pts games. Having said this, I only played few scenarios because of the lack of opponents (due to - I keep saying it - the high cost of the miniatures in Europe).

So far, I have made colour prints of most of the scenarios, plastified them am put them in a binder. This a a bit of an investment, however the costs are very small in comparison to the figures themselves. I would like to have the scenarios all in one format, and hence would not play "home scenarios". Thus, I would like to have the suitable scenarios being adopted by WotC. The number of figures if no problem to me, however I would like to stick to maps that are officially availabe. Just like the scenarios, I have glued the maps on a board and put a protective plastic cover to it (TIP - it is possible to remove the maps X1 and X2 - in fact these are just two maps glued together. Start at oe corner and slowly peel them off - it works like a charm! This way, you do not need to buy two sets of maps in order to plays with 8 boards...).

I hope to be seeing much mopre scenarios in the future - however I would like WotC to stick to the units that are availabe per country - e.g. I am eagerly awaiting Dutch armoured cars that I can use in the refinery scenario - and I would be slightly annoyed if WotC would chose to issue Dutch armoured cars in the future and amend the scenarios that I have so carefully reproduced ...
