Anyone have a house-rule Thompson Gunner as a Commander?

Why make the thompson gunner a commander? America has enough commanders already they don't need one with limited range. If you want a commander with a Thompson, the inspring hero (england) has a thompson with no limited range and has a commander +1 bonus and Tally Ho!
