Probably I was so livid about them taking away the extra figures for single nationality armies that I missed the fact that they DID include that rule.

I've got all the beta rules from the forum and HHR and will just be using those if I play. But it ruins tournament play.

I can make "Scenarios" and house rules all by my little self. Been doing it since Squad Leader came out in the 70s.

I was looking for a quality product the addressed game balance issues. THIS AIN'T IT!

Default Expanded Rules Maps

Wish I had read this post before purchasing.

Disappointed in overall print quality of expanded rules. Some of the platoon samples are even hard to read because they are dark. For $20 I would have expected a bound/stapled booklet with some color. Reminds me of the original (1980) A&A board game rule sheet.

I do like the larger maps, but I am confused. The samples in the pamphlet(cannot really call it a book) show maps 1-8. I only received maps 5-8 (2 map sheets). Where do I get 1-4. All the base sets come with Able-Dog. What am I missing? I did not see an explanation or anything in the downloads.

I have been engrossed in WAS, so really had not piad much attention to AAM since it came out. Just trying to re-new interest with my boys or decide to sell out an wait for WAS II.

Any help/explanation will be appreciated.

Thanks,

I think you are wrong. They allowed additional units in beta but its not printed in the rulebook that way. Read page 15. If there is something I missed please give me a reference.
Look about halfway down the page.

Those enhanced unit limits (more then 15 per 100 points) are -not- in the released expanded rules. Swarm legality has been covered by formations (can be up to 12 units, with the Chinese but still count as 5 units).

OK, there are a lot of opinions in this thread, as there should be.

My friend and I are printing the platoon cards. Now that some time has passed, do many of you still recommend the expanded rules? would you suggest them only for certain players, or not at all? Can you explain, with a few months under our belt, if they are a good purchase? I know the maps are beneficial.
One can pick them up on ebay for less than $10 out the door these days. Just looking for some final feedback. I know we have to make a decision based on our desired style of play.

Thanks.
