Italy's best new build?

10x Carro Armato

and...

well nothing else.

Counts as 14 units and 110 points which is basically a 100 point build in this new universe.

Is there a better one? I mean sure there is no hero in this build but the Carro is not a bad unit against infantry. And with lethal defensive fire maybe you could sieze the objective andhold it. The main problem is no inititative (and tanks go boom). But the leader is only +1 and hardly worth it.

Tiger 1 = 63
2 heroes = 14
blackshirt pt = 17
plus 2x Modello = 6

That comes to 100. Is the Tiger 1 considered part of Italy in the new rules granting the use of 10 extra points? If not I think I'd prefer a swarm of 10 Carros. Unless you are playing against an IS-2 or IS-3 I think the Carros would do better. Rear defense 6 can be handled with THAT many Carros.

Carros are hard to find. I don't like buying units in Ebay, so trading is the only way to get those. Carro Armato is one of the coolest units in the game, so Im strongly in favor of Carro swarm.

The Carro is the rare unit I got most of.
I got 5 of them. I think I bought most of them on Ebay.
They used to be pretty cheap.
I did pretty well in a 1940 touney back when set 2 had just came out (if I remember correctly), with the 5 Carros and 10 Blackshirts.

With the FREE light anti-tank weapons becoming common for many countries, the Carro is going to become more threatened by the "standard" builds utilizing Platoons.

I am not sold on the Carro. Its ease of Explosion has hurt me more than once when playing with them. They are effective at making your opponent want to shoot them instead of your Panther.

I've always like the synergy ofthe blackshirt and the tiger 1. The big trouble was getting my blackshirts close enough to matter. Snce the new maps are so much smaller and you start so much closer to one another, I don't think that will be a problem. So I like them better. Range 4 seems the ideal range for the combat on the new maps. I like givng the Ruthless bonus (Whatever happened to Ruth? I dunno, maybe she got lost. Either way were now ruthless).

I still think that build can do good damage.

Well it did pretty well at the time, but as Colonel Coo said, the Carro is pretty fragilde. They weren't even airplanes in the game at the time I used this build! I've played Carro against an opponent with aircrafts and they don't last very long...

If only Italy has a AA gun or even better a Macchi fighter...

Anyway, I forgot my point in my last post that even thought it would be fun to play 10 Carros, I don't see myself getting 5 more!

(In german it means "the worst is yet to come"; FSSF soldiers used to leave stickers with this message after their night raids behind enemy lines. It made the germans nervous...; I first put it in homage to this great elite unit... but now I find that it also reflects my opinion of this game's future.
