Smile Axis & Allies Iron Blitz Sprite Editor

Hello people!

I was wondering if anybody could give me a little guidance on how to import your own sprites into the game successfully?

I have no trouble saving the images I want from pictures found on the net, into the correct size (62 x 62 pixels), and I can save them as either .bmp or .tif files as required by the game manual, but when I import them into the game, they look 'lop-sided'. What I mean is that they end up with a diagonal slant to them, instead of being straight/normal.

The manual goes on to say that "if your icons are with alpha channel, the background color must be 255 red, 0 green, and 255 blue (255,0,255 RGB)." What does this mean, exactly? I have looked at the properties of my file and can't find anything about this.

The manual also states "If you use .tif, the files must be saved in IBM format with no LZW compression." Again, I have no idea what this means and the manual does not explain further.

I would really appreciate any help you can give in this matter. I know the game is well old, but I hope somebody out there can explain how to do it.
