I appologize for asking what looks like the same question again.
But back before this Q&A forum existed there was a question about this which I have copied below; A Tiger's Overrun ability disrupts one infantry in a square it is entering. Does this take place before or after the infantry gets its defensive fire? The defensive fire occurs first, then the Overrun ability takes place (if appropriate). And rescently we got what looks like the reverse answer... so which is correct. Note; The actual overun V's defensive fire sitiuation looks (to me) more complex than a simple yes no answer; i.e. it should really be 4 questions; 1) If the Tiger overuns & the Bazooka chooses to defensive fire at the tiger in the adjascent hex. Which fires first.? 2) If the bazooka fires first in the above example, does that prevent the overun occuring.? (since the Tiger never enters the Bazookas hex) 3) If the Tiger overuns & the Bazooka chooses to use close assault for defensive fire in the bazookas hex. Which fiires first.? 4) And if the Overun occurs first does the Bazooka loose the option to defensive fire.? (since disrupted units can't defensive fire) |

Here's the sequence.
1. Tiger announces that it intends to move from a neighboring hex into the bazooka's hex. 2. Bazooka can use defensive fire immediately, before the Tiger leaves the neighboring hex. If it scores 7 successes (6 if the Tiger is damaged), then the Tiger is disrupted immediately, stops in the neighboring hex, and no overrun occurs. 3. If the Bazooka fails to score enough successes, then the Tiger enters the Bazooka's hex and the Bazooka is overrun and disrupted immediately. 4. If the Bazooka declined to use defensive fire against the Tiger in the neighboring hex, then the Tiger enters the Bazooka's hex, and the Bazooka is overrun and disrupted immediately so that it gets no defensive fire. That does look contradictory, but I believe that what Mons was referring to in his answer is that the Bazooka has the option of using defensive fire before it gets disrupted, provided it fires while the Tiger is still in the neighboring hex. That first answer was correct but, as you pointed out, it didn't address the entire question, which left it somewhat misleading. Steve |

Latest online errata has;
“Overrun - Once per phase, when this unit moves into a hex, you may disrupt one Soldier in that hex.” Q: If a Tiger I uses the Overrun ability on a Soldier, does the disruption happen immediately or does a face-down Disrupted counter get placed instead? A: The disruption happens immediately. Put a face-up Disrupted counter on the Soldier. Which is a simplified version of the answer on this thread. Should the online errata by amended...? |

No. There's no contradiction, and the answer is in the rules and the FAQ. The Tiger can't use its Overrun ability until it enters the Bazooka's hex. All we have here is an extended dance mix of those answers.
