cover save on tranported units and choosing targets of transported troops

If I have a troop in a vehicle that can transport, can the transport and troop be singled out(can they pick to hit the troop or hit the transport) and if the vehicle is destroyed does the troop have to take a cover save or does he automatically dismount the vehicle. Thanks,

1) A soldier that is being transported cannot be targeted. The attacker must target the transport. There is no option to attack the transported unit.

2) If the transport is disrupted or damaged, there is no effect on the transported soldier. It is not required to dismount. If the transport is destroyed, the soldier is destroyed along with it.
